Re: Epson, high maintenance anyone? (Reply to this comment)

Sorry it took me so long to spot your comment and respond. First... thanks for the comment!
I still use this printer regularly and it still works fine, although I sometimes have to throw away a cartridge before it is empty due to terminal printhead clogs. This is very annoying.
As for the printer's operational cost, I buy cartridges at Costco at a cost of three for $48. (The package comes with one black cartridge and two color cartridges.) This makes the cost reasonable, considering the use I give the printer. The cartridges cost $4 or $5 more each if I buy them at Staples or a similar place. I don't want to try one of the generic cartridge companies... I'm pleased with the cost and quality of the Epson cartridges.
I've gotten quite skilled at using the print routine in Photoshop, so I never get a mis-framed photo anymore. I did take me a fair amount of experimentation to get to this point, however.
Thanks for the comment!

Epson, high maintenance anyone? (Reply to this comment)

I own this printer also. The picture quailty is great. The text is average. The ink cartridge is pricy, but there are subsitutes all over the net at half the price. Be carefull because some will end messing up your printer head. Caused me to clean it after every use. Epson C series are cheaper to buy and produce simliar quality prints.
