| dxerg3770's Full Review: Abit BE6 Motherboard |
It was great when it first came out, but its chipset is pretty old these days, and there already is BE6-II and other pentium 2&3 based motherboard out which is better than this one, and ATA/66 controller on this board is bad, i like jumperless feature though but what isnt jumperless these days? also IDE port for regular DMA/33 (non-ATA/66 controller IDE port) doesnt have place for empty pin in middle of cable connector, so you need special IDE cable that doesnt have blocked out place. Though 4 IDE port is pretty good for motherboard because you dont have to buy additional IDE controller, but i'd recommend buying additional ATA/66 controller from company like promise tech because hightech point ATA/66 controller on this motherboard is bad, it wont run with my CD burner (plex 12/10/32A), and it wont run my maxtor hd on ATA/66, pretty unstable overall
