| sharkis's Full Review: Abit BE6 Motherboard |
If you want to build a quality P3 system, without spending too much, you may want to consider this motherboard. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the BE6-2, but it almost as good, and is a very stable board. You can run your computer all day long without it crashing.
The jumperless design allows you to install virtually any PII/PII/Celeron chip with ease, and you don't have to worry about setting any tiny switches in the dark. This is especially usefull when upgrading processors. This can be done on the fly, without too much trouble. I've ran this board with both a Celeron 300a and a Pentium III 450. They both ran perfectly.
As far as overlocking goes, this board will not run stable at 133fsb, at least not for me. It will however work at 124fsb. And btw, a lot of PC100 ram will have no problem running at 124fsb, just not 133fsb, which will require PC133 ram.
