I am on my second ABIT BE6 Motherboard now. I bought my first one back in January and liked it so much, I upgraded my second computer to a BE6 too.
What's so great about it? Well let's start with GREAT expandability. With 2 ISA slots, 5 PCI slots, and an AGP slot, I am able to fit all the cards I need on the motherboard (currently I have an AGP video card and PCI video card for dual monitors, a NIC, Sound Card, ADS PYRO 1394 Card, and a VooDoo2 accelerator, whew!) In addition, this board allows users to have up to EIGHT, yes 8 IDE drives -- four operating on the UDMA66 interface and four on the standard UDMA33 interface. This allows me to have a UDMA66 drive for my system and program files, a UDMA66 drive for my video capture and then to keep my CDRom and CDWriter on separate channels to reduce buffer underruns.
What else? It supports everything from a Celeron(which I currently run) to a PIII. In addition, the 3 SDRAM slots allow for great expansion when it comes to memory.
But what's the best feature?? In my opinion it is the softmenu BIOS. This menu allows advanced users to overclock their processors relatively easily. With a couple of keystrokes, you can be taking full advantage of the Celeron chips great overclockability. No jumper blocks, no dip switches. It's all in the BIOS softmenu.
The BE6 ran me around $125 but I'm sure you can find it for cheaper now.
