HP in business of selling ink to cheap printer customers

Pros: Ink lasts a long time if you get black when you buy printer

Cons: Comes only with color; cartridges are expensive; refill the black; buy color

The Bottom Line: Get the black cartridge or the printer will shut down after a random number of uses.

I bought this printer 2 years ago.

The ink only lasted a month, then I went through ink refill hell, because it's a color cartridge. I lost a *full cartridge following the instructions for the color refill kit!

When I bought the black and the color cartridge, I realized that the scam in refills is with inexperienced users like me and HP.

Almost two years (21 months) later, the black ink is empty.

And this is easy to refill, so I shall opt for a $29 kit rather than a $20 replacement cartridge since I can refill it at least 20 times!
