Pros: Great performance for a PCI card
Cons: PCI version slower than AGP version
The Bottom Line: Overall, I'm very happy with this card. This card is great for putting some much-needed boost if you own an old computer.

Let me just say, that first off, this card is highly recommended for people with older computers. The reason is, a lot of older computers have no AGP slots, only PCI slots. So if your computer is fairly new, you really don't need the PCI version, just the AGP version. Now, on to the review. Installation was pretty easy. Just pop open the case cover, and, very carefully, push the card into the appropriate slot (it should be noted that most older computers will have video memory integrated in the motherboard. So before you install the card, you have to be sure to disable the integrated video memory, otherwise, serious conflicts could occur). After you do that, turn on the computer, and when Windows loads up, Windows will inform you that it has detected new hardware. It should say "Standard PCI Display Adapter". Click next, and leave all options blank. Next, Windows will prompt you to restart your computer, so go ahead and do that. When Windows loads up again, put the driver CD in you CD-ROM drive and install all the necessary files. When it is finished, Windows will prompt you again to restart your computer, so restart it again, and your all set. The instruction book was quite small, but it was very informative, and easy to understand. Now for the performance. It provided a dramatic boost in terms of speed and graphics, which is why I bought the card in the first place. I had 4MB of video memory integrated in the mainboard, and considering the games that I had, it just wasn't enough. Before I bought the card, I had to put up with extremely jumpy framerates and poor graphics, and I'll use Unreal Tournament as an example. I had to play it under software rendering at 512X384 resolution with all settings to low in order to get halfway decent framerates. Now with the card, I now play under OpenGL at 800X600 resolution with all settings turned to high, and with smooth framerates.
