Pros: They stay on until removal, and they provide warming relief for several hours
Cons: Sometimes "too hot"and must be removed well before showering or skin will sting
I suffer from chronic Osteoarthritis and sciatic pain and am always on the lookout for new products for better pain relief. Since I try to limit the amount of anti-inflammatory meds I take, I rely heavily on topical pain relief.
I have tried tiger balm and BenGay salves and patches, as well as some lesser known brands. I always come back to SalonPas. They REALLY work effectively and for a substantial length of time. I use SalonPas Hot and since the patch is large I cut it in half for easier application.
On occasion, I use their regular smaller patches; however, SalonPas Hot works like a portable heating pad-you can really feel the heat, and they stay on until you take them off. The company also makes Aqua Patch which provide cooling relief-they feel wonderful but regrettably do not stay on as well. I buy my patches from Mellen Medical Products in bulk and they seem to have the best price around
