Pros: Good Sound, battery back up for clock, big bright display.
Cons: Not compatible with the G3 dockable iPod, kind of poorly designed knobs.
The Bottom Line: I recommend it for anyone with an iPod newer than the G3, it is not compatible with that model and some of the older packaging does not reflect that.

I really like this unit in most respects but the unfortunate thing is that it is NOT fully compatible with the G3 iPod. Newer retail boxes I have seen have a little text warning stating that they don't work with that iPod model but the one I received for Christmas made no mention of the incompatibility anywhere on the box or in the documentation. Also the iHome website doesn't make it clear either.
Basically it won't control a G3 but the audio will play through, so the only way you can wake to your G3 iPod is to leave it playing all night. Since it has no control you also can't use the remote to play/pause or switch songs.
I am not sure if any clock radio will control a G3 mind you, it may be a shortcoming of the iPod itself.
The only other criticism I have is that the knobs feel loose and don't spin freely, if iHome had added a concave dimple for your finger it would not be a problem but since the knobs are smooth it made doing things like setting the alarm a bit unfriendly. Oh and like others have said, I wish the volume came up a bit more slowly on the "wake to iPod" alarm.
Everything else on the unit I think is well done and if you have any dockable iPod newer than the G3 I think I would recommend it.
