katyface's Full Review: SDI iHome Battery Charger, Docking Station, Speake...
I have a home office, so I was looking for something that would allow me to listen to my iPod while working. In doing some Internet searches, iHome was one of (surprisingly not many) contenders. Without going way over $100, it looked like that was the way to go.
My husband and I went over to Best Buy, and I had every intention of buying it then and there. We had an opportunity to listen to the speaker quality, and were WAY under-impressed.
That was when my husband had the (admittedly) brilliant idea of buying a boombox with a "line in" input. Along with an inexpensive cable (one end goes into the "line in" input, the other end goes into your iPod headphone jack), this solution resulted with WAY better sound quality and only cost us a total of $50 ($45 for the boombox + $5 for the cable).
