If I had to do it again, I would have bought another brand.

Pros: Great sound quality.
Cons: Poor reliability, eats (and I mean EATS) batteries
The Bottom Line: Due to having to take one back and this one no longer fully working, I will not buy another Rio player.

I originally received this as a Christmas gift and I was excited. No more going to the gym w/ a bulky cd player and no more changing cds. Now I can make my own workout mix.
Yeah.
Opps, problem. As soon as I put the batteries in and the cool blue screen came on
boink
it stopped working and I had to return it to the store. I exchanged it for another one but now Im thinking I should have just gotten a refund and gotten something different. Heres why:
Problem 1 the battery life it claims is nowhere near the actual battery life. When a new battery is placed in the player it will display your battery life, well for me at least when the battery life gets down to about 40%, thats it, the player will come on but it wont play a song.
Problem 2 storage, doesnt hold that many songs. I usually can only get about 14 songs at cd level quality.
Problem 3 that cool blue-lit screen went out
Problem 4 the headphones that came with it developed a short in them and only 1 side would play (replaced w/ a pair of Sony headphones and it sounds better than ever)
Problem 5 Did I mention it goes through batteries?
I have owned this player for about 2 years, I dont know about you but I expect more from my audio equipment. If the reliability problem is addressed and solved by the manufacturer then I could recommend it but I cannot at this time.
FYI: I usually use Windows Media Player to put the songs on the player, and I have not encountered any problems.
