| aced411's Full Review: Rio Volt SP90 Personal CD Player |
I bought this player over a year ago. It came with a little remote.
Mp3 Compatibility: Really good actually. I never had a problem getting it play any kind of mp3's.
Cd Audio Compatibility: Not too good. Will play most music cd's. Doesn't read the intro tracks and has a slight pause inbetween tracks. Continuous play cd's are chopped up on this player. Some cd's wouldn't play. Especially if they were over 74 minutes (Tool, Delirium). Almost any other player can play those cd's. Problem is it reads audio like you're using an old version of Windows Media Player.
Skipping: Fine I guess. It doesn't skip most of the time. I can't complain. You can increase or decrease the rate or skip protection to save on battery life.
Batter Life: Pretty good. I could play multiple cd's a day for two or three days.
Display: It does the job. Long id tags get scrolled. No back light can be annoying. Little dancing guys accompany it all.
Reliability: Here's the biggest problem. For one, the battery compartment is late. Can easily pop open. It feels cheap. My biggest complaint. It eventually died for no reason. I can't turn it on anymore even with brand new batteries. Give it a year before it fails. Not a worthwhile investment.
Other: It takes forever to load a cd before it starts playing! About 45 seconds, and occasionally certain discs have taken 5 minutes to load!!!!!
