Cons: Mediocre sound quality (unless you have big ear canals).
The Bottom Line: Maybe a cheap way to figure out if your ear canals are big enough for in-ear sound-isolating earphones. Then check out the ERs or the Shures.

In-ear sound isolating earphones seem to be all the rage these days. These are probably the entry-level players in that field, at about $30 street price.
They come with three sizes of rubber gaskets; the smallest is still a little large for my ears. They seem to fit comfortably in my outer ear, not falling out, and isolating most of the external sound. But the bass is completely missing.
If I squeeze the phones into my ear, the bass appears, as if by magic. I can get the left phone to stay in deep, with some discomfort, but the right one only has bass when I hold it pressed to my skull with my finger. Kind of defeats the purpose!
When inserted comfortably, the sound quality is adequate for spoken work (podcasts, etc.) but not music.
They are suitably discreet for use in airplanes while landing and taking off (unlike the over-ear Bose monsters).
The cable is normal kind of length, and appears strong and flexible. It splits into a six-inch length for the left phone, and an 18 inch length for the right phone, which is most conveniently strung round the back of your neck -- unless you are reclined on a plane seat, in which case it tugs out of your ear every time you turn your head. Hung in front, it's OK seated, but not walking around - the rest of the cable is too heavy, and pulls both phones out of your ears. It is impossible to roll up this cord and put it away without generating a tangle, perhaps unless you wrap it around your iPod. Even then, the right phone seems to unwrap itself and get tangled around the left...
