| sammy_marvelle's Full Review: SRAM PC-48 |
One of the most overlooked parts on a bike is the chain. Most people don't even look at it until it's hanging lifeless from their crankset with a broken or twisted link. Sound familiar? Well, if you insist on putting miles on your chain with out a lick of service, rest assured you can get it replaced without filing for bankruptcy. The SRAM PC-48 is a great replacement chain, is Shimano compatable, comes with a handy powerlink, is one of the most reliable chains on the market, even after miles of abuse, and retails for around $15.
The only real drawback is it is only compatable with 6, 7, and 8 speed drivetrains. Please, please, don't try to make it work on anything else. If you own a 9 speed, chances are you are going to need a higher quality chain anyway, to make your drivetrain run smoothly.
