Pros: Hedging in double time made easy.
Cons: No cons. Gets the job done in the first swipe.
The Bottom Line: For the money I paid for this hedger a month ago, it has brought back five times that much already. Your neighbors will be borrowing this machine off of you.

| golferinfr's Full Review: Stihl Long-Reach Hedge Trimmer |
When I was looking to buy this Stihl HL75K Hedger the salesman raved on and on about the many shrubs and other plants I could trim using this machine. So when I forked over the $418.00 after sales tax on this hedger, well I just had to go make my money back on it.
My first job was a row of Spreading Yews about six feet tall and sixty feet long. It slid through them like a warm knife through butter. This job took me a little over an hour. Last year it was about 3 hours with the standard gas powered hedging shears. I even made a $20.00 tip this time.
My next job was a thick branch Forsythia hedge about seven feet tall and only twenty feet long. I could not believe the ease of use, cutting through one inch branches without jamming at all. The lady wanted them cut down to five feet. Not a single problem doing that.
The last job was articulating five Leyland Cypresses about fifteen feet high. This hedger comes with a shoulder strap and I was able to keep my balance and trim these shrubs without any problems. My arms did get tired after a while, so you will need good arm strength. Even though it weighs just under fifteen pounds your arms will get weary at first. Be very careful, these blades are very sharp, the edge just nicked my calf and I bled for an hour and it was just a surface cut. No, I'm not Anemic either.
This Stihl HL75K Single Cylinder-Two stroke engine is about 1.3 horsepower. You must add Two-Stroke engine oil to your gas at 50-1 ratio. The blades have a gear box that needs at least 3/4 of an ounce grease every thirty hours of use. It also comes with a 15 ounce gas tank, so you will not need to refill for almost an hour and a half of constant use.
The blades can go from zero to ninety degrees to articulate those shrubs you have. The shaft is forty two inches long so for very tall bushes or Leyland Cypresses you still might need a ladder. all you have to do is pull the safety latch down and turn the bar adjuster to the degree you want. This machine also has a start/stop safety switch within your thumbs reach if any problems occur.
This Stihl HL75K trimmer is very durable and proven to last. I recommend this hedger for those who have a lot of shrubs, hedges to trim every year.
This Stihl HL75K Hedger comes with a two year limited warranty on parts and labor. This machine has passed the test and is warrantied for two years for the California Emissions control. For more information you can go to www.stihlusa.com.
Please wear safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection when using this machine.
