Pros: Easy to start, reliable and balanced.
Cons: Does not have bow options readily available.
My Stihl 029 has been put thru the paces. I've had it 8 years and have used it to cut all the wood on my 25 acres. It has been thru several bars and many more chains. I have always used my electric sharpener to keep the chain sharp, in the woods. If you have to have a reliable saw in the woods and don't have time to hike/drive out then get the Stihl. The saw operates like new and has never been a problem. I never leave it idle for more than a couple of months, so it sees regular use. If it ever gives up, I will buy another in a minute. I've had several other brands and they were frequent visitors to the shop (McCulloch, Poulan).
