The swr LA8 is a descent amp for a bass player who is just beggining or is looking to play small gigs or simply use as practice. Other than that this amp does not offer too much for the 200 dollar price tag. Its sound is not exceptional and mine blew out after nearly 9 months because it could not handle the low sound of the B string on my 5 string bass. I did not like this amp and I personally would not recommend it. If you are looking for another quality bass amp for a reasonable price the Behringer BX1200 Ultrabass Bass Amplifier is much better and for mearly 50 dollars more will not give you as much hassle as this amp has given me.
