California adventure’s S. S. Rustworthy

Pros:No line, fun for the kids. Cons:Pretty boring. The Bottom Line: A small attraction for the kids to run around on.
Much like the S.S. Daisy and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail , this is an attraction that you can go in and out freely. It has a series of devices with which to play with, some of which are water based.
Upon entering you will notice a ship in front of you. There are also a pair of surf boards to your right. The two surfboards are designed for the imaginative few that like to pretend that they are surfing. Trust me you need to have an imagination to make them function properly. The boards are attached to a large spring and bend back and forth. The more you bend forward the more water that comes out. The water is drained into a turf and (I assume) recycled. Anyone standing in front of the stationary surfboard will get their shins and shoes soaked.
In the middle you will see a rusting tugboat like object that children can climb around on. In the pilothouse you can hit some buttons and make a series of noises as well as pretend to steer the ship. On the back of the ship was a target range thingie that has since been closed. There is a loud (and annoying) bell in the front of the ship that you can ring.
If you go through the ship you will find an area with two human silhouettes. Attached to these silhouettes are water hoses. Obviously they are designed to spray others in the area. Thankfully the spray cant go out of the area, but those unsuspecting souls that come in can get soaked. I have found these hoses to be turned off during winter months.
Hidden mickeys
The dials in the pilot house form some mickey shapes.
Location
Anaheim, California, California adventure. It is located east of the ferris wheel on the far side of the lake, right by the flying hamburger restaurant.
In closing
There really isnt anything special about this attraction. If your kids are older you will just want to pass this by. But if you are tired and want your kids to run around for a few minutes then this might be an option.
