| trailhound's Full Review: Safco Panelmate Dry Erase Markerboard, 13 1/2wx1 5... |
I'm called away from my desk so often at work that our manager wants us to put up a message board saying where we are at any given time. I guess that's better than keeping track of us with a radio collar! Anyway, the solution was to hang a dry erase board to write my schedule on every day, and I got the Safco PanelMate Dry Erase Board Model #4158.
This dry-erase board is a perfect size to hang in a cubicle. It measures about 13 inches across and 16 inches long. There are brackets that attach to the back of the board that clamp onto the top of a cubicle wall. The clamps are on the top of a long piece of metal that can be adjusted up or down, depending on how high you want the board to be. There is also a tray at the bottom of the board to lay dry erase markers.
The board has a white background and is very easy to write on and clean up when I am changing my schedule. I find that black or blue are the best dry erase colors to use, but some employees have some kind of color-coding scheme (meetings in red, doctor appointments in blue, etc…). Sometimes I just write a smiley face on the board too, when I'm off somewhere and don't want to announce it to the world.
This Safco Dry Erase Board has lots of uses – from writing your schedule, writing your work requirements, diagramming something, or leaving a quick message on someone else's board if they call in sick or have the day off but forgot to note it. I noticed these boards sometimes get 'mucked up' looking when they get older if you don't clean them thoroughly, so it's best to clean them off as much as possible, and don't use real magic markers on them!
I recommend this model of Safco Dry Erase Boards for a work environment. It has a hanging devise designed for cubicles and is a good size for listing up to 25 words or so. It cost about $40, but since the company paid for it I didn't dicker over the price. Overall I'll rate this dry-erase board as 5 stars.
