Pros:Easy to apply, inexpensive and does the job
Cons:I haven't found any
The Bottom Line: If you are have problem nails, you should try this for an inexpensive fix
I finally took the time to search out something that might help my finger nail and thumb nail that are split and has been since I went through chemotherapy last year. I don't know why only two nails would be affected or even if the chemotherapy had anything to do with it. But since it only happened after the chemotherapy I can only surmise that the powerful chemicals was the culprit.

The finger nail is cracked right down the middle and the thumb nail is cracked way to the side of the nail. The thumb nail isn't so bad to take care of since I just clip it in a little, but the finger nail is a big problem. It gets about 1/8 inch long and then I seem to catch it on everything so I have to keep it trimmed to the quick. I really hate that since all my other finger nails are about 1/4 inch long
I finally remembered when I was at Wal-Mart recently, to look and see if they had anything that I thought might help my nails and I found the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails, Hard as Wraps. This is a powerful acrylic gel that is suppose to harden and seal fragile, soft, torn, chipped and cracked nails.
Hard as Nails, Hard as Wraps comes in a 0.44 ounce bottle, much like nail polish and applied in the same way. The product is bluish in color and about as thick as nail polish. It dries very quickly.
This product claims to have a breakthrough patented formula that provides an instant long-lasting, wrap-like surface with a clear, smooth, shiny finish with only one step and no mixing or mess.
To use you simply shake gently and apply one coat to clean, dry, bare nails. After it dries you can apply your favorite nail polish. I found it very easy and quick to apply. It went on smoothly and evenly. It gives your nails a nice shiny finish so wearing alone is not out of the question.
Now, I can't testify as to whether it gives you a hard as wraps finish because I have never had a wrap on my nails, so I have nothing to compare it to. I really can't say that it made my nail any stronger since I don't really have weak nails. The bond it provided to the crack in my nail, after one application, only lasted about one day. I, on the following day, applied another coat and it lasted until I redid my manicure. So I now apply two coats at each manicure and it seems to be doing what they implied it would do. I have only used this product on the finger nail since I had previously trimmed the thumb nail so there isn't anything to apply the product to. As soon as it grows out enough to apply this product I will try it on the thumb nail. I have been using this product for about two weeks and I am very satisfied with the results so far.
