| adamsjill's Full Review: Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment |
I have tried many, many lip plumpers over the years, and recently decided to add a cheapie to my collection, Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment.
More about Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment
This product is available at most drugstores and big box stores, for about $9.00CAD. Sally Hansen products are often on sale though. It comes in a clear square tube, and the applicator is a brush not a sponge. 1 tube contains .2oz of product, about average.
About the product, www.sallyhansen.com says:
Revolutionary lip plumper instantly plumps lips!
Tingly gloss inflates lips to maximum fullness & shine, without discomfort.
Refreshing clear gloss enhances lips natural color and shape while adding brilliant shine.
Peppermint cools and stimulates lips.
Lips become flush and plump instantly for a sexy, pouty look.
Vitamins A and E hydrate the lips.
Dare to compare to department store lip plumpers at half the price!

My experience with Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment
When first applied, this gloss feels very cool and minty and a bit tingly. The feeling lasts for about 5-10 minutes. It does not bother me, as I am accustomed to lip plumpers, but may well bother someone with sensitive lips. The smell is very minty, which I like.
As for the look, I think this gloss looks fabulous when first applied. It is very shiny and glassy, and seems to make my lips look pinker and fuller simply because it is so thick and glossy. It does not, however, seem to have any true plumping ability. As soon as it wears off a little (which takes about 30 minutes) there is no residual plumpness or pinkness left. All the work in this gloss is done simply by it being so thick and shiny that it accentuates your lips well, and perhaps the tingling providing a short lasting irritated pink hue.
The price to pay for that is that the gloss is not very comfortable. Very thick and heavy on the lips, and hair gets caught in it. Also, this gloss tastes horrible. Kinda like if you somehow get your finger in your mouth after using nail polish remover. A truly terrible chemical taste that burns the eyes.
Also, once this wears off, my lips feel very dry and achy. I t is advertised as hydrating, but I think it sucks moisture from my lips!
Though this gloss does look nice will first applied, I cannot recommend it as it is not comfortable to wear, does not live up to the plumping claims, is drying, and tastes awful. Not that anyone should eat lipgloss, but since it does go on the lips, it should not taste too awful should the tongue touch it!!
