| c2sue's Full Review: Salon Selectives Full of It |
Helene Curtis Salon Selectives has a new formula shampoo available. The one part of the new line I tried was called "Full of It." It is a bodifying shampoo designed to add body to fine, thin or straight hair. It also has a bodifying conditioner to accompany it.
For those like me that have fine, thin, and even limp hair, this was a definate find for me. I knew the Helene Curtis name usually produces good results, but the products are also a little out of my hair care budget. There are many fine cheaper products that say they make your hair fuller and healthy looking. Salon Selectives, I thought, was just another name to make you think you will get just from the hairdresser looks. We all know that look, the kind that is awsome when you walk out, but you can never produce the same results the next day. Now I say this was a "find" for me, and it was in more ways than one. First it was on sale. Normally the product is about $4.00 a bottle, but I got to try the product at 2 for $5.00. So it was simple for me to make use of the sale and buy both the shampoo and conditioner. The second "find" was that it did produce just walk out of the hairdresser's feeling and shine.
Normally, I just wash my hair and let it air dry before styling. Since my hair is so fine, it doesn't take that long and I really can't afford to damage my hair with hot air. I was absolutely amazed at the thickness and fullness from my hair. I had to use some styling gel to help tame my hair down it was so full. The first time I tried it I thought the Roseanna Roseanna Danna look was coming back. Between gel and some hair clips, I got it tamed down to look normal, at least for me.
I wash my hair quite frequently, at least daily if not twice if I am active and busy. The Salon Selectives Full of it, did not dry out my hair or make it feel like it was overloaded with the product itself. The shampoo and conditioner rinsed out quickly and easily. I didn't have to stand under the shower trying to get the suds out. Each 13 oz. bottle seemed to last about a month and a half since I didn't need to use much of the product (about a quarter size dollop). Already this is becoming a bagain even if I would've had to pay full price.
The scent was not overpowering either. It had a fresh clean smell that didn't have the perfumy smell of other shampoos. It was a more natural scent, not like the berries and flowers of others. The label says that there are wheat proteins to penetrate hair shafts but has a special blend of citrus and peach extracts to remove dirt and oil. It really is a light fragrance that last throughout the day without choking and gagging me or the people around me.
My hair feels great. It looks more full and silky. If one product can produce the desired results you are looking for, than Salon Selective "Full of It" is my shampoo of choice. Some people may not think that shampoo and conditioner are that important. I am in the position that given my hair type I really can't afford to trust just any product. I need the volume and the cleanliness without the weighed down greasy feeling. And since Salon Selective is producing it, that is the one for me.
My last surprise is that everyone notices how much healthier my hair looks. Even my husband, who would never notice if I got my head shaved, noticed how silky and full it looks and feels. I value my opinion of myself, but the opinions of those around me are important as well. The cost of the shampoo and conditioner are well worth it.
