geckogod2's Full Review: Samsung BlackJack II Smartphone
I bought this phone back in April '08 and I absolutely love this phone. I have the black one and use a 2 GB MicroSD memory card with it. I did have Nextel and Boost prior to this phone, but I could not get signals in my house. I'd always have to go outside or stick it out the window to get a signal. Now with the i617, I have no problem getting signal. Its a great smartphone which has Windows Mobile 6.0.
The phone comes with decent internal phone memory capable of storing lots of files. One of my favorite features is the GPS support. I downloaded Google Mobile Maps and use them in conjunction and it is one powerful GPS device. This has come in handy for many road trips. The resolution on the screen is extremely good. The maps shown from Google Mobile are just as clear as the the maps on the Google Earth PC program. The screen itself is about 2.5 inches.
The battery life on this phone is incredible. When I used Nextel I was lucky to get a days worth of battery power out of it. With the blackjack's battery , I can go 2 days on a single battery charge. Keep in mind though the programs you install and run will have an effect on the battery life. If the GPS is constantly running it will drain the battery quick, but overall the battery is great.
There is a hundred more things that make this phone great like Bluetooth, 3G Internet, QWERTY Keyboard, MP3 Player, 2.0 Megapixel camera, and etc., etc., etc. The only thing not on this phone I would have liked to see was Wi-Fi. Overall I Like this phone very much and glad I purchased this phone.
