Pros: space saver, nice design, looks great, price
Cons: no prescan on DVD player
The Bottom Line: Not reccomended because there's no progressive scan. Spend a little more and get one that has this feature. You'll appreciate it in the long run.

One feature we really liked was the ability to watch a DVD while recording a television program and a simple remote control that automatically detects media and switches to meet the users needs.
We got it home and set it up in the livingroom. Everyone was excited to see how it would work. It worked great for about 6 months. Then we noticed that if DVD's had even the slightest scratch on them they would freeze, or skip, or just simply not work. We tried several different DVD's. It seemed to work okay with regular movies, but with cartoons it had several problems.
Of course this was a new experience for us, so we got a DVD cleaner, cleaned it, and all the Dvd's. Nothing seemed to work. We finally realized that the main problem with it was that it did not have the progressive scan.
So after the kids complained for about 2 weeks that their DVDs were broken, we went and got a normal DVD player with progressive scan and put it downstairs for them. The Samsung DVD-V2000 DVD/VCR is in our room since we rarely watch DVDs.
Everything else about this system is wonderful, I like being able to run everything off one remote, I like having 2 systems in one (even though one doesn't work well), and I love the way it looks. Unfortunetly the lack of progressive scan makes me give this one a thumbs down.
