| carenz's Full Review: Samsung DVD-V2000 DVD Player / VCR Combo |
We bought this DVD/VCR to save space, it was a Consumer Reports Best Buy, plus the fact that it only cost $150. I suppose you get what you pay for, but right away the remote was kind of buggy. The remote really does not work unless you put it right up against the infrared window on the unit. Then the remote completely died on us and we sent it back to the company. The remote was returned and supposedly had no problems and indeed it worked, but in the same frustrating way as before.
Then the player was unable to read any DVDs. We sent it back to the company and they replaced something and now it works again.
Customer Service has been pretty good, but I'd rather not have to use them at all. Plus, having to get out of your easy chair to hold the remote in front of your DVD/VCR is kind of a pain. I would actually just throw the remote away, but you cannot play most DVDs without some of the functions that are only on the remote.
