| bigbobo's Full Review: Samsung DVD-V2000 DVD Player / VCR Combo |
I bought the DVD-V2000 because I didn't want to have two separate units and it was on sale at Best Buy.
I purchased the unit in May. After a month it started skipping, pixelating and stopping while in DVD play mode. It seemed to work in the morning but not later in the day. After some experimenting it was apparent that the problem was temperature related as the problem wouldn't appear until the ambient temperature approached 80-85 F.
As I purchased the unit 32 days prior to the problem, Best Buy wouldn't exchange it (they have a 30 day policy and don't care about customer satisfaction).
I dropped off the player at a Samsung warranty center. The warranty center confirmed the problem and said that room temperature shouldn't exceed 80-85 degrees for proper operation. The manual gives the maximum operating temperature as 104 degrees. After five phone calls to Samsung, they agreed to exchange the unit.
