jsshattuck's Full Review: Samsung SCH u940 Cell Phone
After four weeks with my new Samsung Glyde, Ive got it up for sale on ebay.com here's why-
While being a slick phone (screen is drop dead gorgeous), with the promise of some great features, the touch response is very poor, even with the sensitivity turned all the way up, it locks itself as soon as you make a call, despite removing the setting, it times out after 15 seconds and you have three clicks to get out, (for instance, you are listening to a long voice mail, it goes black and locks, you have to unlock, then go in two screens to hit 7 to delete the vm), and the settings are frustratingly notorious to stay put.
It feels a little light, not a bad thing, but comparing to a phone like the HTC, this is a feather.
THE WORST OF ALL, and this is more verizons fault than samsung, is that you cannot sync your contacts from Outlook or other PM software. Insanity! When asked about it, verizon confirmed it, and samsung acknowleges that the phone was changed for verizon, and that the carrier blocks data traffic to and from the phone on blutooth and the cable.
That means that not only today, but as my contacts in Outlook grows, that I will not be able to sync those up with the phone. Worse, since this is a replacement for a lost phone, the ONLY way to get contacts in is through verizons 50 dollar service copying from another phone.
Given that the email support is at best mediocre, and we have a phone that is definitely headed for the top of the useless pile.
I suppose this might be a good first phone for a teenager, but most teenagers I know wouldnt put up with this stupidity.
