Pros: Cheap, lightweight, and initially a very clear picture.
Cons: Sidebar "burn in", lines across screen, load humming, not worth it!
The Bottom Line: This TV and maybe the technology is not worth the cost savings.

| bannje6's Full Review: Samsung HL-S4266W 42 in. HDTV DLP TV |
I have had this TV for 1.5 years and there have been many issues. We didn't have HD capabilities for about 5 months after the purchase and viewing in a non-stretch mode resulted in "burn-in" where the sidebars were. Upon calling Samsung customer service, they said they could do nothing. A local repairman said that when not used the mirrors in the DLP can get locked and show up as black and that it would cost about the same price as a new TV to fix. Even though Samsung advertises no burn-in like LCD or Plasma TV's, this can in fact happen and as more of these types of sets age more of this phenomenon is being documented. Not long after the sidebar issue, thin lines developed across the screen. These lines do mostly go away as the TV heats up, but they are annoying. Just recently a load humming sound has begun. The repairman said it was a color wheel going bad (bearings) and it would cost about half the cost of a new TV to fix. Know I can just wait for the bulb to burn out and it will again be about the cost of the TV to fix it. I guess they don't make TV to last more than a year or so anymore. Overall I've been very disappointed in Samsung products (not just this TV).
