Pros: Compact, great reception, high quality MP3 player, very cool looking (Apple Titanium/ transistor radio design)
Cons: Price, headphone jack plug gets in the way, fragile antenna, phone on when playing MP3's
The Bottom Line: Almost perfect! A bit pricey, but you get a lot for the money. I'm very happy with my purchase, and it works with my Apple laptop! Highly recommended!!!

| system-700's Full Review: Samsung SGH-M100 Cell Phone |
I have to admit, I love the look of the electronics devices of the late 70's early 80's. That chrome transistor radio look is great! I also love the look of Apple's new Titanium laptops. So when I saw this phone, it was love at first sight! I love this phone! It is the perfect compliment to my Apple Titanium in both looks and features. I was able to successfully download MP3's into the phone using the supplied software and Virtual PC 4.0 (Win98). The reception is excellent, and it is very compact and lightweight. The sound quality in the MP3 player is excellent...and I was very surprised at how good it sounds. At this point, having owned it for a day, the main thing that bugs me is the small rubber plug for the headphone jack which swivels out of the way but still manages to get in the way. I bought the leather case for it, and the rubber plug still doesn't hide away very well. But I recommend the case because it keeps you from accidently pressing the side buttons which are now recessed in leather. All of the buttons are a little small for dialing, but once you're used to it, they're fine. Battery life seems pretty long, even longer with the extended lithium battery available separately. Talking with the headphones on is great as you can be listening to MP3's, and the phone kicks in and puts the song you're listening to on pause. When you hang up, it resumes where you left off. As mentioned by others, one of the major faults is that you can't turn off the phone while listening to MP3's. The antenna is also a bit flimsy, but I really haven't had the need to use it yet. This is a great MP3 player/portable phone for the price.
