Pros: Compatable with my old computer. Inexpensive. Clear print.
Cons: None so far except supplied toner in box is "starter" quantity.
The Bottom Line: From my short usage I recommend it because it will apparently work with any computer and gives good print at a cheap price.

I've only had the 1250 printer for a few days and only used it 2 times. I just want to write that I was surprised that it was compatable with my old DOS 1989 386SX computer.
The printer was perfect the first try when I turned on the computer. I did not initialize the printer. I did not use any driver except I only told my computer that I was using a year 1989 Samsung printer. I couldn't put the supplied CD driver in my computer because the computer doesn't have a CD player. And I was using a complicated form I had formatted as legal pleading paper with numbers and lines. Also I did not use a 1284 compatable cable from the computer although the 1989 parallel cable worked. I used an old power cable, and saved the one in the box. I am amazed that this printer could be so smart with such clear, perfect print. I paid $169 (after $50 rebate) plus tax at Fry's in San Diego.
At first I could not get the "demo" (test) to work because I had not connected the printer to the computer. I had thought that the demo was self-contained. Once I connected them, it was perfect.
Regarding type of paper to use, recently a copier service technician said cheap paper is OK for laser printers since the spaces in the paper allow the toner to sink in and be better attached. He said ink jet printers need expensive, "shiny", paper which is denser, whereas cheap paper with spaces would allow the ink to spread out in the spaces and be messy (In my words.).
