Pros: Feature packed printer for the price.
Cons: If you need the PostScript option, that may place the printer on the pricey side.
The Bottom Line: The ML-1450 offers you a lot for your dollar. It's very easy to use, prints fast, not noisy. I feel it blows the doors off the HP-1200.

| mkyoung's Full Review: Samsung ML 1450 Laser Printer |
This is a very good printer for the home or office. Comparing this printer to the HP1200 and the Brother HL1440, I found the ML-1450 to be the better printer. I wanted a printer that was PS capable (HP/yes, Brother/no), would work on Linux, and economically priced (HP about 150 more). Two features that I really like and use frequently are the manual duplex printing and the N-up printing. The manual duplex printing is straight forward and easy to use (you can optionally print out a cheat sheet to help you), and the N-up feature allows you to print 2/4/9/16 up. The standard paper tray will hold a ream of paper and you can purchased the optional 2nd tray. Manual feeding is very simple and easy to do. I can't speak on how easy (or hard) it is to clear a paper jam because I haven't had one yet. Nor have I had pages sticking together when printing. Setting up, networking the printer, and printing my first job took all of 10 minutes. The printout quality and speed are both excellent. The printer comes with 4MB of memory and it uses 72pin EDO memory. While I had some sitting around unused, without looking too hard, you can get a 64MB module for under $15.00 off of the net and that brings you up to 70MB of memory which should be more than adequate for even the really complicated print jobs. My only concern is because this is not a HP printer, how much difficulty might I encounter finding toner or parts if I need it. I eventually found someone that carried the PS SIMM, but it took lots of eMail and a number of phone calls. Adding the PS SIMM will bring the price point very close and possibly just over the HP-1200, but I would still pay more and pick the Samsung over the HP.
