I've had the Samsung ML-2010 for a few months now and I am very satisfied with it. It is a monochrome only printer. It's a pretty sparse package as you only get a driver disk, manual, power cable and the printer with starter toner. It doesn't come with a printer cable which made me disappointed. On the bright side printouts were pleasingly good. Texts were sharp and graphics were good.
The starter toner is supposedly good for 1000 pages. I'm not holding my breath to find out how true that is. I'm just happy to see professional quality prints from it. A "toner save" feature is available that forces the printer to use less toner. This produces prints in lighter shades of black but they still look better than printouts from inkjets in my opinion. One thing that really had me baffled was the toner save button on the printer does not work as described in the manual. It can only be enabled/disabled through the software.
On the back of the printer is a power switch. Upon turning on the printer will proceed to warm up and produce some noise, mainly from the fan. That's my main complaint with this printer is the fan noise. It is set by default to run a minimum of five minutes after each print to keep the unit cool. Printing is very quick like a copy machine.
One point that lured me to a laser printer as opposed to inkjet is that toners are relatively cheaper than ink. Also you don't have to worry about the ink drying out over time and wasting your money if you don't print on a daily basis. Refill toners are cost effective and can be easily acquired on ebay. An OEM replacement toner cartridge does cost $60 while refill kits costs a third of that.
I am very happy with this printer. Nothing can come close to it's value in this price range. It's inexpensive and produces good prints.
