jpk1121's Full Review: Samsung SCH U740 Cell Phone
I upgraded to Verizon Wireless from Nextel about eighteen months ago. While the Verizon store I went to only had a limited selection of phones at the time, I more or less chose the Samsung Alias at random. I must say it was an excellent choice which has performed very well for me since then. Many people are impressed with the way the phone opens, two different ways.
At first, I thought the keyboard and keys were too small for me, but I have very much so gotten used to it. The Alias offers all the features of any other phone, such as notepad, stop watch, world times, videos, music, internet, and much more.
As one other member mentioned in their review, the SD Card and the charger slots are quite flimsy, and may come off. One other concern I have is that the hinge where the phone opens doesn’t seem to strong, and my wear over time. Neither of these concerns has materialized to date.
When I got this phone, it was relatively new to the market. I had some minor technical difficulties with it, such as it freezing and restarting itself. When I brought this to the attention of the staff at the Verizon Technical Support, they promptly replaced my phone, no questions asked. The replacement phone has the most up to date software and internals, and has functioned flawlessly.
In closing, I highly recommend Verizon Wireless and the Samsung Alias.
