After my 14" Gateway monitor decided to show everything with a purple tint, I knew that it was time for me to shed some bucks on a new monitor. But this time I was determined to treat my eyes better and step up to a bigger screen. The problem was I had a very limited budget as a part-time employed college student. Samsung made my dreams come true with this extremely affordable, yet fully featured model.
I looked at every internet store, all the lower-end 17" models, compared the features and prices... I made my decision on Samsung 750S and onvia.com. With a price tag of $198.98 (including shipping & handling) and a $25 coupon, this monitor was shipped to me for $173.98. Not bad, huh? I mean, there are 15" CRT monitors for this price for God's sake!
My first impression of it was nothing less than remarkable. This monitor takes a little more space on my desk than my 14" and is about the same weight. But let me assure you that its image is nothing like my old one. It's bright, crisp, completely flicker-free and BIG. I compare it to the expensive monitors we have at the computer labs and I'd say mine looks even better. It does not have a perfect flat screen (and if you are expecting to get a perfect flat screen for this price you must be living on Mars), yet it is the closest you can get to flat screen unless you spend a couple of hundred dollars more.
The image controls are easy to figure out, yet not easy enough to change whenever you feel like it, but I figure that this is something very common for most monitors these days.
The long story in short... This is the ULTIMATE monitor for those who hate to waste their money. I really don't see the reason why anyone would buy any other monitor for so much more money when all you need is Samsung 750S. I am so very happy with it, I am thinking that buying this monitor was one of the best consuming choices I've ever made.
