dkgs's Full Review: Samsung WEP350 Bluetooth Headset Red
I bought this to replace a long series of Jabra bluetooth headsets that either died or had such poor sound quality they were unusable. Unfortunately there are not any headsets on the market that I can fit that fit comfortably. Jabra had a great design coupled with cheap poor product.
This Samsung WEP 350 has an ear bud is smaller than most but is still too large to fit comfortably into my adult ear. There doesn’t seem to be much thought put into the design in terms of the shape of an ear. You can cram the bud into your ear and it fits fairly well, but pops back out after a few minutes. At that point the headset simply dangles from ear piece in front of your ear and you can’t hear the headset. With out the ear piece the headset would fall off completely.
Another design feature that needs work is the large button on the face of the headset. Push that accidentally and you are redialing the last number you called. I’ve already done that about a dozen times. Perhaps it is the functionality of the phone that mandates this. I used the headset with a Blackberry Curve. I expected and hoped this button would activate the voice activated dialing feature, like many other headsets do, but it does not, which is a shame since that is a very useful hands free feature to have.
I’ll probably keep this headset and try to modify the ear bud and make it work. Especially since every other Bluetooth headset on the market now has a much larger ear bud that has no chance at all fitting comfortably into my ear…. Of course except one last Jabra design that has unacceptable sound quality.
