Pros: Very energy efficient. Has 12 wash cycles and 7 wash options.

Cons: Sometimes gets out of balance which is normal for all washers.

The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend this washer because it is very easy to use and it is very energy efficient. It does a fantastic job washing clothes.

I bought this washer on 11/27/2007. I always wanted a front loader because they are very well known for their energy and water efficiency. I bought this model because it had some great reviews by other sources.

I wanted to wait several months to publish a review for accuracy and fairness. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this washing machine. The first one shook very badly but that was because of the incompetent installer. Just because they say they are "professional" doesn't make it so. Just because you have a driver's license doesn't mean you know how to drive. I was given a second washer just to make sure the first one wasn't damaged by the carelessness of the previous installer. I also bought the pedestals for this washer and the matching dryer which I also like very much.

The washer came with a sample of something called "affresh" which you are supposed to throw in the washer once a month to remove the odor causing residue. After 9 months of using this washer I still have not used that sample. I have experienced absolutely NO foul odors because I leave the door open after each wash so the water can evaporate around the rubber gasket. I have also had no problems with clothes being damaged by this washer. It does a very good job cleaning whatever I throw in it. I have washed as many as 9 pairs of jeans in it at one time; however, I do not recommend washing that many at one time because it can get out of balance. VRT™ does a great job correcting this though. Samsung says you can wash up to 20 pairs of jeans but I don't think I will ever try that.

Things I like

I love the way my clothes smell after each wash and I love the energy efficiency of this washer. It uses on average 210 KWh/year and uses very little water. 95% of the time I use cold water, even on whites. Sometimes I will use the Silvercare™ setting because I don't use bleach. Silvercare™ is Samsung's proprietary method of using pure silver ions to sanitize clothing. It is supposed to remove or kill 99.9% of tested bacteria. I hardly ever use it though. I also like the way the washer can correct out of balance loads with ease. It does this by using Samsung's VRT™ (Vibration Reduction Technology).

Things I don't like

Just can't think of any.
