Pros: Excellent size, lock switch prevents battery drain, good sound, cheap. Expandable memory card.
Cons: Very few bells and whistles. Slow file x-fer.
The Bottom Line: For someone without a ton of cash, the Yepp Z32 is an excellent MP3 player. It has all the basic functions one needs, and it is expandible too.

| WRC123's Full Review: Samsung Yepp YP-E32 (32 MB) MP3 Player |
PLEASE NOTE:
I origionally wrote this review in the "slot" for a different Yepp player. I deleted that post, and the review is now in the correct slot. If there is any problem with this, PLEASE contact me ASAP!
And now, the review!
At OfficeMax today, I went looking for a MP3 player. Having a pretty good sized MP3 collection at home, I decided to get a digital player instead of burning tons of CDs. The player that caught my attention was the Samsung Yepp' Z32.
Anyhoo, the MP3 player is pretty darn small. It is about 1/2" by 1.75" by 1.75". The screen is small, and only displays the song number, and the amount of time elapsed. No, this does not display the song title or anything like that. Just a single number.
Installing the software was a snap. The model I purchaced used the computer's printer port to send data and commands to the MP3 player. Because the program uses a printer port, data is sent at only 128kbps, so uploading about 12 MP3 files takes about 5 minutes. There is an optional USB plug you can get that should increase the data transfer to 1.3mbps, but I am a patient person and can wait. Just remember, don't expect to load all your songs in a minute and dash out the door. When using the uploading software, remember to BE PATIENT! Sending the data takes awhile, and sometimes the software seems to "freeze" but it has not crashed on me yet. The software installation CD also includes Real Jukebox, which lets the user create MP3 files from a CD.
------
WARNING!!! When you use Reak Jubekox, be sure to disable the "secure MP3" feature that is enabled by default. If this feature is enabled, the MP3 files will be encrypted, and unplayable on the Yepp or any other MP3 player.
------
One of my concerns when buying this unit was expandability. This Yepp unit has 32mb of interal memory, and a card port for expansion. Nice.
As far as sound quality, this is the way it works. 128kpbs MP3 files sound just like they sounded on a computer or what they sound like after being burnt on a CD. Lower bandwidth MP3s at 64-56kbps are not quite as good, and are comparible in quality to the sounds made by a tape deck.
Overall, the YP-Z32 is an excellent MP3 player for only $80. If you are interested in going from CDs to MP3, and are on a budget, this unit is for you!
