Pros: Great nose. Well balanced and subtle. The best finishing beer available. Not expensive.
Cons: Head does not last. Aroma 'stales' as the beer sits. Not the easiest to find.
The Bottom Line: My favorite. The best overall I have tried and I have tried them around the world. As close to perfect as any beer I have yet tasted

I have tried beer all around the world, owing to a career that involves global travel, and this inexpensive, big brewery, mainstream Asian beer has yet to be beaten.
It is nearly perfect. In contrast to the current American micro brew trend of aggressive component flavors, this beer is subtlety personified. To borrow from the label ad copy, 'refined' is about as good a word as can be used to describe it. It has a wonderful aroma (although the bouquet flattens as the glass empties), a bright first note (can be a bit too sharp if drunk from the bottle-needs to be in a glass), a complex and subtle middle drink (let it hang on your tongue a few seconds before you swallow) and the best finish of any malted beverage on the planet-fruity and smooth-makes you want to take another sip. The only complaint is it has a short head-the foam is gone after two or three sips which has an impact on the aroma, but not on the taste. Great with most foods but really well suited to Chinese and Mexican. In short, this beer is just a delicious pleasure.
Very hard to get east of the Rockies-really big stores in NYC and Boston are the only places I know of- but well worth keeping in mind if you ever get to Asia or the Pacific American areas. Besides my rave here, it is one of the most consistently high rated beers in the world in various published guides. And perhaps the biggest endorsement I can think of; my wife hates beer but she thinks SM is one of the best tasting drinks she has ever tried. There ya go.
If you see it, try it. You won't be disappointed.
