I first tasted San Miguel beer about 1972 and for many years that's the only brand I'd drink. Being a career Air Force noncom, and spending most of my career in the Pacific area, I had plenty of opportunities to sample this great beer and others as well, and believe me this is the best. It doesn't leave a bitter taste in your mouth like a lot of the Japanese beers do and is not heavy in the stomach like many of the lagers I've drank. On a hot day in the Philippines, and they are all hot there, nothing goes down better than an ice cold San Miguel. True testimony to it's popularity would be the many parties, get-togethers, and barbeques I attended while at Clark Air Base when only San Miguel beer was served.
One word of caution to those who try it for the first time. The quality control process at the brewery may not be up to snuff, as one bottle to the next may contain different amounts of alcohol and be sure to wipe the neck clean before drinking.
