When it was time for me to update to a flat screen t.v I wasn't familiar with any of the products. When I went to walmart they had a selection of flat screen t.v's. They all looked the same with different prices. The quality was no different. I asked a worker about SANYO. They said it's a reliable first tv for a fair price. When I brought it home I couldn't AGREE anymore.
When I just hooked up my TV I saw that the screen was pretty crisp. It wasn't to sharp that it was irritating to the eyes but it was sharp just enough to enjoy high definition. I use an HDMI cord to connect my gaming console and the graphics look great. As long with my High definition cable.
I bought this t.v for alittle over $600.
Since I enjoy the xbox this TV has made it easy to connect too. You can easy connect DVD players and other systems easy by the inputs on the left side(looking at the TV screen) right side(looking from the back).
This TV is easy to move around and put together .Sanyo 42inch tv weighs about 40lbs. You have the option of putting the TV directly on the wall(mounting) or placing the tv on a stand of your choice. Cleaning this TV is easy, but you cant directly spray the tv with any cleaners, this can damage the TV. You just damp a washcloth lightly and gently brush the TV down.
The 42inch screen fits perfectly in my meduim to small living room. The screen isn't to big that it strains your eyes, and its not to small that you have to get closer to the t.v to actually see.
The thin simple black trim around the screen helps with placing the tv. You can easily place the tv in tight measure places as needed. Before I owned this tv I had a big bulky block tv which fit perfectly in my outdated entertainment stand. I was worried that my new Sanyo flat screen wasn't going to fit but it fits in the place perfectly.
You have the option to save energy with this t.v. Helping you save money on your electric bill. When picking from the "energy saver" selection it dims the t.v screen.
The QUALITY of the Sanyo picture is pretty decent. You have the option of changing the brightness or dimness to your liking. You have the option of changing the size of the picture shape as well. There are 3 HDMI inputs you can select to use right on the back. There is also a USB port so you can put pictures from your USB right on to the TV, along with videos.
The SOUND QUALITY is good as well. With the option of Sound Modes: Standard, Vivid, Theater, Clear Voice, Custom ( includes Bass/Treble, Bass Extension, Equalizer. Sitting directly in front of the t.v is louder then you sitting from a different angle, about 60degrees left and right. When you leave the room you can't hear the TV, since the sound is projected straight out.
