We bought this phone early this year to use as an "around town" way to keep in touch as a family. We particularly liked the small size w/o the need to constantly open and close it, like you have to do with the Motorola Startac. Also essential to us were the dual mode, vibration mode and internet features, although we haven't used the latter yet. We also wanted a phone that could accommodate a headset.
The phone has performed extremely well, with exceptional clarity as compared to our old Motorola 550 antique phone. We use Sprint PCS, so that's helped with the clarity as well. (Note re Sprint: if you roam a lot, make sure that Sprint has reciprocal agreements with other companies in nearby areas where they don't have service. They don't in our area (SF Bay/Cal).
Battery life has been exceptionally good, with the phone going for days on end without need for a recharge. Even when the icon says that it's low, you still have a lot of use left before you have to recharge.
Dialing and address book features are great. Speed dial works without a hitch. Many ringers to set, both for restricted and unrestricted calls. Caller ID is built-in with the Sprint implementation. I have my phone set for Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachmusik" for preferred calls, for example.
Wish I could tell you something negative about this phone, so that it would appear more well-rounded, but I really can't think of anything. Be sure to get the leather case, as this will allow you to attach it to your belt and will give it much-needed extra protection from drops. We've dropped ours several times without incident.
