| sportsweek's Full Review: Saranac I.P.A |
Saranac is a prime example of how difficult it can be to love micro-brews the way I do. It's hard work to try all these different beers and sometimes you have to sift through a lot of bad ones. Saranac is one of those.
All of my friends and family know of my love for different varieties of beer so I actually received the "12 beers of Christmas" twice this last year. This was the true definition of, "I appreciate the thought but . . . " This beer is horrible! Virtually every type was disgusting. The IPA was drinkable but no where near the quality of say a Red Hook or Sierra Nevada. The rest from the Lager to the Ale to the Bock were all simply disgusting, I wouldn't let my dog drink them, no wait actually I did try to give some to my dog but he wouldn't drink them.
The reason for this epinion is simple, I'm sure everyone who reads this either loves beer or at least knows someone who does, and this looks like it would be a pretty cool gift for a beer lover but looks can be deceiving. Saranac's marketing department should be commended for the 12 different beers idea unfortunately their brewers should be shot. As for me, I'd prefer a twelve-pack of Milwaukee's Best!
