Pros: Hunting for chicken in the tikka masala not required.
Cons: Naan at a steam table? That can't be good.
The Bottom Line: When there's samosa in the buffet and it tastes like it was made to order, you know you're in good hands.

A while back we were hankering for an Indian lunch buffet, so we visited Sargam in Walnut Creek. Sargam was recommended to me after I had an unimpressive visit to nearby Swarna. Id been to Sargam once before for dinner (coupon in East Bay Express) for a quite good chicken tikka masala/channa masala/vegetable samosa dinner.
The buffet is $8.95 which is higher than anywhere else Ive seen in the Bay Area. The spread was slightly larger than other buffets (with the exception of $7.99 Priya in Berkeley).
The buffet included:
Naan - Never good in a buffet, Id much prefer it fresh and brought to my table.
Chicken tikka masala - My boyfriend noted that there was lots of chicken, no hunting through the sauce for chicken was needed.
Vegetarian samosa Hot inside and didnt taste at all like it came from a buffet it tasted just like the last time wed ordered it here.
Tandoori chicken - The boyfriend said it was good meat; I thought it was average.
Stuffed eggplant (with tomatoes) Good dish.
Punjabi curry Unrecognizable vegetables in an oily sauce.
Mushrooms and peas Average.
Vegetable fritters - I tried the potato one and found it good but oily.
Papadan
Dal
Aloo gobi (potato & cauliflower)
Salad area:
Red chickpea/bean salad (served cold) Avoid this.
Canteloupe/grapes/oranges
Lettuce/tomatoes/cucumbers
Raita (too smooth; no Priya)
Highlights: Good samosa (seen only once before at a buffet) and chicken tikka masala.
Overall, Id rank it fifth in Bay Area Indian lunch buffets:
MY RANKING OF BAY AREA INDIAN BUFFETS
I might be forgetting some:

2)Priya (Berkeley)
3)Mayuri (Santa Clara)

6)Maharaja?. (Mtn View on Castro St., cant remember name but its not Sues)
