It's For Me!

Written: Mar 13 '03
Pros:Heats up quick
Cons:Doesn't give you low-high heat, one setting
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want a professional look, but don't have to money for it!

I really believe God invented straighteners for women like me. Women that have beautiful, long, curly hair, and want straight hair! That's why he gave someone the idea for a straightener. (And thank God, because I remember how women USED to straighten their hair...with an IRON!)

This particular straightener is great. I use it everyday, and it's pretty durable. I know, I have dropped it quite a few times on the ground, and it still has yet to break! It doesn't take long to heat up, and gives you enough heat to straighten even the most untamed curl. (Performed an experiment on my mother's once permed hair, straight as a line!) It does have a few bad qualities to it, however.

The Cons:
For each hair type, there is different requirements to maintain it. Thereore, there should be different settings on a straightener for different hair textures. Say, for example, one girl has small waves in her hair, not that hard to straighten. Her hair requires less heat than a girl with large curls in her hair. If you don't need a lot of heat, this straightener could fry your hair, and then you have to add styling products to moisturize it. I don't know about you, but the less work I have to do on my hair, the better. Another negative mark against this straightener is that it's not the most comfortable thing to hold on to. If it had some padding to make it less, well, plastic, around the handle, it's be a lot less tiring on your hand.

The Pros:
This straightener works wonders for even the curliest of hair. It takes a little extra effort, but it will always come through. It's got a stylish look to it that attracts the eye and says "Buy me, you'll love me!" Yeah, that's how I got suckered into buying one! But I love it, it really reduces the time it would take to try and dry my hair straight. I would recommend it to curly haired women wanting straight hair, but I think it's too much heat for someone who has almost straight hair and who wants is a little straighter.
