This has to be one of my favorite games ever to play with a large group of people. I remember the first time I played it, it was a family Christmas party. I, being the youngest of the cousins, could hold my own for the first time ever. I think everyone at that party went out and bought it as soon as the holiday rush was over.
The object of the game is to get as many points by trying to answer the question cards with answers that may not be so obvious. You have a die that gets rolled at the beginning of each round that has letters on it. The letter that is rolled is the letter that every one of your answers for that round must start with. So if you roll an S and it asks you for a boy's name, you would have to come up with something that began with S and was hopefully a name someone else wouldn't think of writing.
Points are only awarded if your answer is one of a kind and everyone approves. That is to say if you make something up or you put a sea gull as the answer for a mammal people can vote on your answer. Also, depending on what rules you decide on, there are many ways to play, you can get double points for coming up with an answer that has two words beginning with the chosen letter. For example if the letter was M and the card wants you to name a cartoon character you could say Mighty Mouse and get 2 points!
This game is endless fun, but what I really wanted to write about was playing this game as a drinking game. As I said before you are only awarded points when your answer is one of a kind. If you have Smirnoff for a brand of liquor and someone else does as well, no points are awarded. So in the drinking game version not only would you be awarded no points, but you would both have to take a shot. That's right! When playing this way it forces you to be even more creative then if you were playing the normal regular way. That is unless your real game is to see how intoxicated you can become which I do not recommend nor condone! All it takes is a couple same answers to send you on a downward spiral.
Either way you play you are guaranteed endless laughs. You will be surprised how many people will write the same thing as you. It is also nice because you can play with all ages. Again not the drinking version because I am not supporting underage drinking! A great game to take to big family functions.
