I really hate this bike. We bought this thing so I could "work on my body", and I just sit and stare at it while I am using my computer. Something is wrong, and I'll tell you a little secret....it's my fault. Actually the bike is a great piece of equipment, and I'm suffering from very low motivation. Why can't these things be fun? Why does my husband think he's having a great time when he rides it?
On a more serious matter, it is an excellent piece of exercise equipment at a cost of under $500. However, it is rather ugly, but then who would consider this type of torture to be pretty. When I do get on this bike, I like the timer, as I can set it for how many minutes I want to ride, and joyfully watch the numbers go down. There is a calorie counter, that I never look at because it seems like a lot of work for such a small amount of calories burned. However, it will tell you how many have disappeared, and that in itself is helpful. The RPM's on the meter are also helpful as you can decide what speed is comfortable to you, and stay at that number. That is also good when you are ending your ride and need to reduce the RPM's for the cool down period.
The seat is rather uncomfortable. Although it looks well padded, and there are many height adjustments, I can never find a spot that is just right for me. Perhaps that is my attitude about exercise creeping in. The handles are excellent. They have comfortable, nicely covered padding, and are easy to hold.
We have an exercise room, but right now "the bike" is sitting in the family room.....a subtle hint from my spouse. It is easy to move around, so that is why he brought it in here.
Now we can have eye contact while I am writing epinions! I wonder how many calories that burns?
