| Ohara1861's Full Review: Scooby-Doo Get That Dog Game Board Game |
My 7 year old daughter loooooves Scooby Doo and also likes to play Memory Games so when the holiday season rolled around last year, I thought what could be better. Also the price couldn't be beat!
The game comes with cards that are thick coated cardboard and about 2 1/2" square. The back side has Scooby Doo's name on it while the fronts have pictures of Scooby and the rest of those meddling kids in various poses and some phantoms and ghosts. A three inch plastic Scooby figure came with the cards too.
You play the game just like any other Memory game by hiding the pictures face down on the table or floor and flipping over 2 cards to find a match. When you find 2 matching cards, you keep them and take another turn. Keep doing this until all the cards are matched and see who has the most matches.
The game also comes with 10 matching cards that show Scooby with a hand coming down from the top. When you get this matching set, you get to take the Scooby figurine either from the table or from another person and hold onto it.
There are 4 monster cards that show 3 of the monsters from the TV show. When you get a pair of these, you lose one of the pairs you have. There are also 2 wild cards that have a bone on it. When you flip over a bone card, any other card you pick with this becomes a match.
Count up all the cards you have for points and the person with the Scooby figure gets an additional 4 points.
The game is a typical memory game and is made like it so it's rather sturdy. The game is recommended for ages 3-6 although if any child or adult likes to play Memory games, then they should have a fun time especially if they are a Scooby nut.
It's a quiet calming game that makes you think and is not electronic. The price is also rather inexpensive so it makes a great gift or a special treat for a sick child. The game can also be played anywhere and all the pieces just get thrown into the box which is rather small.
My daughter and I have played this frequently and always have a great time. With very few instructions, even the littlest Scooby fan should be able to play this especially if they play against me!
