| bensgirl76's Full Review: Scoop Away NoTrack |
With my now 6-month old kitten Bennigan, we have been through many different kinds of litters trying to find a superb stink-free mix. Well, this Scoop Away No-Track works GREAT!
How’s this stuff better?
Well, a few reasons I prefer this litter over any other out there are:
-There are larger granules, which help keep litter from straying from the pan. My cat loves to jump in the litter box even when he’s not doing his business and dig around and kick up litter, so the larger granules are easier all-around. When litter does stray from the box, the larger pieces are easier to clean up, and clump better to his urine than the tiny litter products.
-The fresh scent of this litter is wonderful, and the fact that this litter is 99.9% dust free is also a major plus. Usually, when I poured out the other types of litter, a cloud of dust would fly up into my face, and being slightly allergic to dust, it was not fun. But with this litter, there’s no need to worry about the dust. The scent of the litter is great too, and it lasts for a long time.
-The litter also has antibacterial odor control. This feature helps to stop the bacteria from the cat’s you-know-what. It fights the bacteria, and therefore, it gets rid of odor.
So, you have more than one cat? No Problem!
My friend has four adult cats, and it seems to be a major undertaking just feeding and cleaning up after my little one… Well, for those of you that own more than one cat, this litter is for you too! My friend Liz was using Tidy Cat Clumping Litter, and I gave her a box of the Scoop Away Fresh Scent No-Track litter to try out. She called me a month later, and she was VERY pleased. She couldn’t believe how much time she had wasted using the other litters- cleaning up, changing, and dumping. She said that with even four cats, you can use this litter for long periods of time and it still stays fresh and clumps great!
Ok, so you’ve bought the product, what’s the best way to use it?
Well. I usually use litter liners with any litter, so I can just pull the bag off of the litter pan and remove all of the litter with it without scrubbing out the actual litter pan every time. HOWEVER, if your cat is not de-clawed like mine, (well, he will be soon, I need to save my furniture!) then the litter liners may not be the best idea for you. My cat tears them up with his claws, so I end up changing the litter at least once a week when I use those. Scoop Away recommends to use this litter as follows:
1. Fill your clean litter box with approximately two and a half inches of Scoop Away. For best results, do not mix Scoop Away litter with any other regular cat liter (which I highly recommend too).
2. Remove clumps and solids daily and dispose in trash. Do not flush. The rest of the liter stays fresh.
3. Add more Scoop Away as necessary to replace what you remove. Once a month, empty entire litter box. (I recommend emptying the litter completely about once every two or three weeks instead of a month, to get rid of all tiny clumps that you may not pick up and get rid of the bacteria.)
This litter is a great buy for anyone with a cat!
The box that the litter comes in is cardboard, and has a nice plastic handle, which makes it easy for carrying. I purchase the 20-pound box, which I buy for $5.99 at K-Mart. This is a great buy for litter of this amount, which is also great for people on a budget! The side of the box has an easy-open dispenser, so you can just hold the top and pour the litter out of the side. I highly recommend this cat litter to anyone who owns a cat- it lasts long, eliminates odors, and will keep you and your cat happy for a long time!
