| JBduckling's Full Review: Scoop Away NoTrack |
Our new kitty, Jackson, is extremely finnicky about certain things in his life: Cat Food and Kitty Litter are two important items out of the 21,000 plus other things. With a pregnant wife in the house, one of her benefits is not cleaning out Jackson's litter box. Cat feces can transmit a disease named toxoplasmosis to pregnant women and people with immune system problems, so this household task has been graciously accepted by me. I've become way too involved with cat litter, knowing Jackson only used Cat's Pride and leaves not so subtle hints when it is not. However....
One night before going to bed, it was time to change Jackson's box. Sometimes my intelligence is between "rocket scientist" and "brain surgeon." Tonight was one of those nights as I emptied Jackson's box and grabbed an empty bag of Cat's Pride litter. I have no one to blame but myself, as I forgot to throw away the empty bag, much less failed to buy more. Must be a guy thing, leaving the empty bag. I rushed to a late night store to buy some fresh litter and of course, they were out of Cat's Pride, totally! Obviously, all the cat owners in Wisconsin read my Epinions review on Cat's Pride. I gambled and bought "Scoop Away" and filled Jackson's box with this new product. As he supervises all activities near his litter box, I did get the "What!" look from him! I'll deal with it in the morning and the "messages" around his box, notifying me of his displeasure with my new kitty litter of choice, Scoop Away!
So far, so good! While Jackson hasn't jumped on my lap to thank me, he has been using this litter with no problems. Upon further review:
1. The No-Track Scoop Away has reduced the tracking of litter around his area. In this area, I have to rate Scoop Away better than Cat's Pride. The litter does stay in the box!
2. The Fresh Scent keeps the smell of the box down. While it's not flower fresh by any means, I feel most people entering our house do not know we have a cat until Jackson greets them. Some litters can be noticed three blocks away, the fresh scent does work. There is an antibacterial odor control in Scoop Away.
3. Less dust flying around the box, keeping maintenance to a minimum. The dust bowl no longer exists in his area.
4. High clumpability. When cleaning the box, the clumps stay in one big piece. They don't break up and fall apart when scooping the box out. Cleaning is fast and easy. Entire box should be changed once a month.
5. I did buy on sale, a great price of less than $5 for 14 lbs. It was a buy-one-get-one-free store offer.
The negatives are few:
1. The clumps are not flushable. Dispose of the clumps via the trash method. Too bad, as flushable is easy and cleaner.
2. If you're into it, Scoop Away does not have the American Vet Society or any other professional seal of approvals.
3. The plastic handles on the box break very easy, be careful.
If you and your cat are not too choosy, give Scoop Away No-Track a try. It delivers what the box says, No Track and Fresh Scent. The only major negative is that it is not flushable.

About Me: The boys have Mommy's good looks. There's a resemblance between me and cat. Poor Kitty!
