I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is without a doubt, the most borrowed book on my shelf. "Screw the Roses" is a wonderful, friendly introduction for anyone who's ever been curious about the world of BDSM. Phillip and Molly write in a highly informative, easy-going and engaging style reminding us through their prose that people engage in loveplay because, most of all, it's fun! The book gives the reader everything from a short history of the bondage scene, to a primer bibliography of other books they might want to read. It also includes an introduction to the "tools of the trade" so to speak and re-affirms again and again that safety and fun are the first and foremost things to remember.
Overall, this book is perfect for anyone who's ever been curious about BDSM, presenting it in a fashion that is light and humorous and keeps the reader from feeling like he or she should be ashamed of what they are reading. I cannot, as I said, recommend this book enough. If you are interested in the subject matter at all, then this book is perfect for you.
