My husband and I own 4 tanks. Three of these tanks are acrylic Sea Clear tanks. The Sea Clear hexagon tank is great for corners. However, I would strongly suggest that when you are looking to invest in a hexagon tank that you also spend the money for the stand. If you have a limited space in which to put a tank, this would be my best suggestion for a tank. The type of filtration you choose is up to you. We use sandman filtration in all of our tanks which keep the tanks clean with only a monthly cleaning.
This tank will scratch however. Any acrylic tank will scratch, even with an algae pad. The other draw back to the acrylic tank is that it is more prone to having algae problems.
The greatest advantage however to this tank is the seamless sides which increase viewing, and allow for a longer life time average over a glass tank. When deciding on the size of tank, I would highly recommend that you take in to consideration your ability to clean the tank, the size of room you are putting the tank in and the types of fish you wish to display. Also keep in mind that the deeper the tank is, the harder it will be to clean.
Remember, fish like room to swim. The rule of thumb is 1" of fish per gallon of water. If you're raising guppies, they average 1/2" in size. So with a 30 gallon hexagon tank by Sea Clear you could have up to 60 fish. (Be careful with guppies, they are like rabbits).
The Sea Clear name is one of the top manufacturers in acrylic tanks and has a life time warranty on their tanks. Should the tank for any reason other than mishandling begin to leak, they will replace or repair it.
As far as I'm concerned, you can not go wrong with a Sea Clear acrylic tank.
